Hovey Industries began operating in 1979. Recent years have seen dramatic changes in the company and its products. By focusing on customer's needs, our product quality has grown immeasurably. We now concentrate our production in two market segments, Custom Sheet Metal Fabrication and Snow Clearing products for the Railway Industry.
Hovey Industries moved to its current location in 1987. Our plant production and warehousing space totals 48,000 square feet.
Our manufacturing personnel receive regular training and are highly skilled in the operation of the most sophisticated CNC manufacturing equipment. The Company's capabilities include steel, stainless steel and aluminum fabrication. In addition we perform electrical and gas train assembly to support our Snow Clearing products. Our employees are linked to the drafting and design department by a computer network. We maintain a flexible work force by ensuring they are trained on a variety of fabrication equipment. The manufacturing personnel are key members of our design team. Some of our Custom Sheet Metal Fabrication products include, biological containment hoods, sound attenuating covers and shelters, components used in Auxiliary Power Units and various types of enclosures used by industral and commercial clients.
Hovey Industries is North America's leading manufacturer of railway snow clearing devices. Our Heaters, with high efficiency blue flame burner technology, keep switches clear of ice and snow, and our Horizontal Air Curtains clear snow from switches and keep the line of sight of hot bearing scanners clear. Our customers include, the Class 1 railroads, transit authorities, short line railroads and industrial rail operators.
Hovey is committed to providing the railway industry with the most cost effective switch heaters and horizontal air curtains. Hovey has focused our resources on the reduction of the total life cycle cost of our snow clearing equipment.
Hovey's sales force provides direct service to the customers. Sales representatives have been employed to offer a regional representation to both the United States and Canadian railway industry.
